Embedded Marketer
Ongoing capacity. In-person, async
Embed with your team for continuous problem-solving. Think of me as technical capacity your marketing team can tap whenever they're stuck. Async communication, meetings only when needed. Minimum 3 months.
What is it?
I embed with your team as ongoing technical capacity. Not a consultant who advises and disappears. Iâm in your Slack, in your systems, solving problems and building things. You get strategic thinking and hands-on execution in one package.

Commitment terms
- 3-month minimum - Real systems work takes time to show results
- 1-month notice after that - Cancel with 30 days notice after the initial period
- Change tiers anytime - Scale up or down as your needs change
What problems does this solve?
- Marketing team is skilled but lacks technical implementation capacity
- Systems are a mess and need continuous attention
- Dev team is too busy for marketing tech requests
- You need someone who can both strategize and execute
- Hiring full-time is too risky or too slow
Before embedding, many clients start with a Performance Marketing Audit to diagnose what needs fixing, then use embedded capacity to execute the plan systematically.
When is this a good fit?
- Youâre scaling fast and systems canât keep up
- You need technical marketing capacity but not full-time headcount
- Your CMO or marketing leader needs hands-on support
- Youâre at an inflection point: new funding, market expansion, system changes
- You have ongoing technical work but not 40 hours per week worth

What I work on when embedded
System Implementation & Maintenance
Building and maintaining your marketing infrastructure. HubSpot configuration, automation workflows, integration builds, data cleanup, dashboard creation.
Technical Problem Solving
Unblocking your team when they hit technical walls. API questions, integration debugging, workflow troubleshooting, âis this possible?â validation.
Project Execution
Owning specific initiatives from planning to delivery. Campaign infrastructure, migration projects, tool implementations, custom builds.
Knowledge Transfer
Training your team so they can maintain what we build. Documentation, process creation, best practices, upskilling on technical topics.
Real examples from past engagements
Example 1: SaaS Company Scaling Marketing Operations
Context: Series A SaaS company growing from 5 to 20 people. Marketing team couldnât keep up with demand for campaigns and reporting.
What I did (embedded 2 days/week for 6 months):
- Rebuilt HubSpot from scratch with proper architecture
- Automated lead scoring and routing workflows
- Built custom reporting dashboard pulling from multiple sources
- Trained the team on best practices as we went
Result: Marketing team went from reactive (firefighting broken stuff) to proactive (shipping new campaigns). Lead response time dropped from 24 hours to under 2 hours.
Example 2: Agency Needing Technical Capacity
Context: Growth marketing agency needed technical capacity for client work but couldnât justify full-time hire.
What I did (embedded 3 days/week for 9 months):
- Built custom tracking and attribution for enterprise clients
- Created reusable automation templates for the agency
- Handled complex integration projects
- Mentored junior team members on technical skills
Result: Agency could take on technical projects theyâd previously had to turn down. Revenue from technical services increased 3x.
How it works
1. Discovery Call
We talk about your needs, current setup, and where youâre heading. Iâll ask a lot of questions to understand if Iâm the right fit.
2. Proposal & Agreement
You get a clear proposal with recommended tier, focus areas, and start date. We agree on scope and sign off.
3. Onboarding
I get access to your systems, join your communication channels, and learn your setup. This takes 1-2 weeks.
4. Ongoing Work
We establish a regular cadence: weekly syncs, project work, async communication. I work on priorities, you get regular updates.
5. Monthly Reviews
Every month, we review whatâs working. Adjust tier up or down, shift focus, or continue as-is. After the initial 3 months, you can cancel with 30 days notice.
What you can expect
Async-first - I work in your timezone and communicate in Slack/email. Meetings only when needed.
Senior-level work - You get 10+ years of experience, not someone learning on the job.
Proactive - Iâll spot problems and suggest solutions before you ask.
Knowledge transfer - Your team learns as we work together. No black box.
Flexible tiers - Scale up or down as your needs change, anytime.
Clear commitment - 3-month minimum, then 30-day notice. Most clients stay 6-12 months.
